Manhattan Helicopters Launches New E-Commerce Platform ECWID

Manhattan Helicopters, the leading helicopter tour company in New York City, has partnered with ECWID (pronounced Eck-WID) to offer helicopter passengers a more user-friendly online reservation booking process. The ECWID e-commerce system allows passengers to “drag and drop” products or services into their Shopping Bag from any page, eliminating the need to search on multiple web pages.

Manhattan Helicopters flies over 200 passengers a day from all countries and states. “It is imperative that our online reservation process be smooth, easy, and convenient for travelers booking online,” said CEO and Chief Pilot Itai Shoshani. “With more passengers booking digitally on mobile phones and tablets, we wanted to switch to a responsive website with a user-friendly online reservation system.”

Manhattan Helicopters offers three Tour routes, with the options to book a public or private tour for each. Public tours sell seats, where the helicopter is filled with other people. Private tours allow a group or couple to fly alone with the helicopter all to themselves. The routes are 15-, 20-, and 30-minutes long, flying tourists over 30 iconic Manhattan sites. Among those are the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Verrazano Bridge, Governor’s Island, Ellis Island, One World Trade Center, Chrysler Building, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Empire State Building, Central Park, George Washington Bridge, Grant’s Tomb, Columbia University, Yankee Stadium, Coney Island, Verrazano Bridge, and many more.

The new system includes all services, products, and fees. Customers can now pay their heliport fee in advance, as well as purchase photos or videos of their helicopter experience before they arrive at the heliport. Managers are confident it will keep online customers happy.

“We are thrilled with the new reservation system. It displays all prices and fees upfront, so there is no shock when they arrive in town. They can prepay for their experience online without having to worry about it when they arrive. This is great for tourists who want to surprise their family, friend, or loved one with a helicopter ride (which happens often),” said Marketing Director Meagan Dooley.
